Kendall Melton

Co-FOUNDER

Kendall Melton is a sixth-generation butter-loving Texan who brought her charming wittiness back to the Lone Star State after a successful four-year stint at Loyola Marymount University in sunny Los Angeles. Multiple trips to Paris ensued, where she apprenticed at boulangeries & flour mills to better her craft and knowledge of pastry. Her almond croissants, tarts, and inventive eclairs are just a few delectable examples of her homage to French-inspired pâtisserie magique.

Her creativity and dedication to intriguing flavor combinations has won plaudits from the Austin food community, as well as from customers at several well-known local restaurants where she’s helmed the pastry chef role.

One slice of warning – prissy dessert lovers might want to seek their frilly parfaits elsewhere. Kendall is into flavor, flavor, flavor and making people happy with indulgent, rustic style pastries. Her sweet treats are the unapologetic, beloved stuff of “le village français”, with the saltiness of a true Texan woman.

Vivian

Co-FOUNDER

Vivian’s Boulangerie pays homage to Vivi, Kendall’s much-loved, super-opinionated kitty. Named in honor of actress Vivien Leigh, she was loyal, loving, loud, and feisty. Reigning as a queen like no other from any sun kissed soft surface, Vivi commanded a room and captured the hearts of those that met her. She was also a big fan of butter and croissants, too, proving that the apple never falls too far from the tree. This brassy feline even beat cancer, but in January of 2020, cancer took Vivi off her throne, ending her benevolent reign.

Despite her absence, Vivi is the heartbeat and inspiration for the enterprise.
